The Mercury Marine 823913Q Gearcase Anode is a genuine Mercury OEM sacrificial anode designed to protect Mercury outboard gearcases and lower units from galvanic corrosion and electrolysis. Manufactured from marine-grade aluminium alloy, this anode is engineered to corrode before critical underwater metal components, helping to preserve the integrity of the gearcase and extend the service life of the outboard.
Operating in saltwater, brackish water and freshwater environments exposes marine engines to galvanic activity that can rapidly damage unprotected metal components.
