The Mercury Marine 8M6004830 Resistor Cap Male is a genuine Mercury OEM NMEA 2000 network termination resistor designed to provide proper end-of-line termination for NMEA 2000 and SmartCraft Connect networks. Installed at the male end of the NMEA 2000 backbone, this resistor helps stabilise network communications, prevent signal reflections and ensure reliable data transmission between connected marine electronics.
Proper network termination is essential for the operation of any NMEA 2000 system. Without the correct terminators fitted at both ends of the backbone, communication errors, intermittent device dropouts, missing engine data and network instability can occur. The 8M6004830 resistor provides the correct electrical load required by the NMEA 2000 standard, helping maintain consistent communication throughout the network.
Manufactured to Mercury Marine specifications, this terminator features a sealed marine-grade design suitable for harsh boating environments.
